WHAT IS ABSTRACT MINDFULNESS?

Abstract mindfulness uses alternative practices to bring our focus into the moment.
Being in the present can provide us with peace and calm in all areas of life -- especially during stressful situations.

Many individuals feel pressure to have a certain body type, flexibility, mentality, or inherent knowledge of yoga/meditation before beginning a practice; this notion prevents many people from the benefits of mindfulness (often those that need it most).

Practices can be specifically created for each individual, especially those who see the world differently.

  • breath work
  • journaling
  • meditation
  • massage therapy
  • music
  • rhythmic movement
  • sensory integration
  • sound healing

Calm is especially important for individuals on the AUTISM SPECTRUM.


There are many tools we can use to integrate mindfulness into the daily lives of Autistic individuals. This may include: special interests, unique settings, therapeutic techniques, and individualized routines.
